The "Sales history” chart of the “Dashboard” page visualizes your sales data and illustrates metric changes over time, reflecting the settings defined within the "Filters” panel of the sidebar menu. For more information, see Business Analytics | Dashboard | Sidebar menu.
Chart overview
- X-Axis (horizontal): Represents the time period, which is limited by the date range selected within the "Filters" panel.
- Y-Axis (left, vertical): Displays monetary values, such as revenue and expenses, for the chart bars. The values are shown in the currency specified by the "Currency" filter within the "Filters" panel.
- Y-Axis (right, vertical): Represents quantity values corresponding to the quantity-based metrics.
To gain detailed insights into specific time periods within the chart, hover over any chart bar to trigger a tooltip. This tooltip dynamically reveals statistical data for that specific period. The period covered by the tooltip information varies depending on the selected period view of the chart — "Day", "Week", or "Month”.
Tip: By hovering over the info icon at the top right of the chart, you can view the date and time of the latest chart data update.
Manage chart view
The view of the “Sales history” chart can be changed by switching between the period views — "Day", "Week", and “Month”, represented as tabs at the top right of the chart. This action changes how the chart displays data, enabling a more focused analysis on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
You can resize the scrollbar located under the chart to scale the chart’s time period within the date range defined on the "Filters" panel.
By dragging the scrollbar left or right, you can adjust the start and end dates without altering the overall period range.
Chart bars and lines
The "Sales history” chart categorizes its displayed metrics into three distinct groups, with each metric distinguished by a unique color, as shown next to the metric’s title in the chart legend:
- Revenue: visually represented as pale-colored bars
- Expenses: visually represented as the bright-colored bars
- Products: visually represented as continuous lines.
